Dave joined Brown Turner in 1973, qualifying as a solicitor in 1975. He acquired Brown Turner Compton Carr in 1986 and managed the firm for 30 years until 2016 when he stepped down as Managing Director.
Dave specialises in the following areas of law:

- commercial and corporate work, including company sales and purchases
- professional negligence litigation in family law
- high value divorce work, including seeking reviews of past settlements
- motoring law
Dave has significant experience as a tenacious litigator in high value multi-track commercial litigation including director and shareholder disputes and disputes arising out of breach of fiduciary duty.
Dave has developed a niche area of litigation within family law, acting for clients seeking to have their divorce settlements reviewed and seeking compensation from their previous solicitors, achieving significant damages for a client whose original settlement had undervalued her share of her husband’s pension.
He has won significant Appeals against initial decisions in divorce matters on behalf of husbands who he felt they had been particularly badly treated by the Judges in the Lower Court
He has significant experience of advising clients in large scale business sales, in particular in the garden centre/nursery sector.

Gill qualified as a Solicitor in 2002 in a local Southport firm and became a Partner in 2009. During this time she headed up a large commercial property team dealing with a variety of commercial and residential transactions. In 2013 Gill moved to another local firm and became Head of Property again dealing with a mixed caseload of commercial and residential property matters.
Gill joins Brown Turner Ross as Head of Property in the Formby office.

She has over 25 years’ experience in legal administration having worked as a Barristers Clerk in a busy Liverpool Chambers where she was responsible for a number of barristers, ensuring the efficient running of their diaries and fees. She later became a manager in a significant personal injury firm in Southport responsible for the Costs Team with recovery of fees from Third party Solicitors.
She currently works in the Housing Disrepair Team and is responsible for assisting and managing the efficient operation of the department.
