Queenscourt Hospice is a place for patients and their families to receive in-patient, out-patient and day-therapy care. The hospice’s services are free to all who need them and costs over £2million a year to run. Only a third of its funding is from the NHS, so they rely greatly on the generosity of the public and groups, such as Birkdale Support Group to raise funds.

Kevin Ross, director at Brown Turner Ross said:

“We were really thrilled to be involved in the golf day at Royal Birkdale, it has become a popular annual event. As Trustees for the Sydney Littler Charitable Trust and Elsie Talbot Trust we donated £2,500 for our teams to play. The whole day was fantastic, not only were we polishing up on our handicaps but we were also raising money for a really worthwhile cause. Places like Queenscourt Hospice make a massive difference to the quality of life for those with terminal illnesses and their families.”

Margaret Mann, chairman of Birkdale Support Group said:

“Each year we hold a golf day, courtesy of Royal Birkdale, organised superbly by Mr Geoffrey Todd. We are grateful to Brown Turner Ross and all the companies who support us so loyally, we raised between £6,000 and £7,000 which will help the hospice give its patients the highest quality of care and comfort. Thank you to all who participated.”
