In preparation for this year’s Liverpool Food and Drink Awards, solicitors Brown Turner Ross have been giving a culinary master class at Michelin acclaimed Host, one of Liverpool’s foremost Pan-Asian restaurants. The partners of the firm who are sponsors for this year’s Food and Drink Awards wanted to ensure they were able to spot one end of an Edamame Bean from a Wasaabi Peanut.

The master class was given by top chef, Gary Manning who took Brown Turner Ross partners Lyndsey McHale and Kevin Ross through the basics of Pan-Asian cuisine. They learned how to produce some of Host’s most popular dishes including Duck Gyozo Dumplings, Crispy Ham Hock with Master Stock Caramel and a delightful Chocolate and Chilli Brownie or Host Dough Fingers.

Kevin Ross Partner of Brown Turner Ross said

“The recent and ongoing regeneration of Liverpool City Region’s tourism and leisure sector has seen enormous increased competition for restaurateurs, meaning that independent operators are pushing for the highest of standards of excellence. We have no doubt that the awards this year will recognise this fact, and we are proud to be supporting what has become a highlight of the year for the industry.”

Gary Manning owner of Host added

“We have been at the forefront of Liverpool’s culinary regeneration for 13 years and we will continue to push for excellence. Each year the Awards recognise the hard work and creativity of independent restaurants in pushing forward Liverpool’s food offer, the public vote means that the awards mean more to every operator in the City.”

The Liverpool Food and Drink Festival Awards is taking place on September 12th at The Camp and Furnace (formerly A Foundation).
